Interview with Drew Seeley
Date written: Oct 2 2008
Terese: What comes first, music or acting?
Drew: Before filming [Another Cinderella Story], I would have said music. I loved being apart of the High School Musical tour, and I wrote some of the songs for it as well. But now I would have to say acting; it's a lot of fun.
Terese: What is the most romantic thing you've done for a girl?
Drew: I surprised my girlfriend with a weekend trip to Vegas; I took her on a gondola ride and we had a sunset dinner. I had this bottle with a message inside that was in the water and it said something like "I so glad you came, happy 2 month anniversary".
Terese: What was it like being a voice dub for Zac Efron in the first High School Musical movie?
Drew: It was cool. Zac is a great singer really, and it lead to me being apart of the tour.
Terese: How's the album coming along?
Drew: It's coming along great. I've been recording on the road and I'm starting the Jingle
Jam tour this weekend, so I'll be singing Disney songs and a few off my album.
Terese: Did you write any of the songs?
Drew: I wrote all of them. Actually, I co-wrote them with other people. I like having a collaboration of people's ideas.
Terese: How do you like working with Selena?
Drew: She's awesome, really down to earth. We do some great dance scenes together. So it's really been cool.
Terese: Who is your biggest celebrity crush?
Drew: Umm...That's a @#$%!e...Jessica Alba, I guess. And Rachel McAdams, she's Canadian, so yeah!
Terese: What do you look for in a girl?
Drew: She has to have a sense of humor. And not be so serious all the time because I'm a dork and I want someone I can laugh with.
Terese: What's your favorite thing to eat on the road?
Drew: Gummy worms.
Terese: What's your favorite color?
Drew: Green.
Terese: What's your dream car?
Drew: That's a @#$%!e actually. I'm not a big car guy. So I'd have to say, maybe something classic, maybe from the 60's.
Terese: Who is your favorite band?
Drew: Right now, I'd have to say Sound Garden.
Terese: Who would you want to work with in the future?
Drew: For acting, I'd just like to work with some of the great directors out there. For music, I would say Johnny Legend or Norah Jones.
Terese: What does it take to get into "The Biz"?
Drew: Perseverance. I did a lot of extra work for different movies. Don't take no for an answer and don't let rejections get to you, just keep working at it. The only difference between my friends and me is that they went back home and I stayed in LA.
Terese: How do you like being back home in Canada?
Drew: I love it! I actually have family in Vancouver, so it's been fun.
Terese: What's your favorite electronic brand?
Drew: Well, in the movie we use these things called Zunes and they're like iPods, but they're made by Microsoft. They're really cool.
Terese: What's your favorite clothing brand?
Drew: Umm...Antik Denim. All my jeans and a few of my jackets are from there. Also Nike.
Terese: What's it like working with someone as young as Selena?
Drew: Selena's so professional. She doesn't act like a 15 year old, she acts like 19 or 20 even and it's so professional. It's really cool.
Terese: So far, who has been your favorite co-star?
Drew: Definitely the cast from High School Musical when we were on tour. I just got to meet so many wonderful people like Ashley; she's awesome. I also became friends with Lucas and Corbin. It was really fun.
Terese: What's your favorite sport?
Drew: Downhill skiing. I'm actually hoping to go to Whistler before I leave.
Terese: What's your favorite movie genre?
Drew: Umm...horror. I love going into the theatre to see a scary movie and screaming like a little girl.
Terese: What can't you live without?
Drew: My car, cell phone, and iPod.
Terese: What's the worst thing you did as a child?
Drew: Probably terrorize my little sister who is 2 years younger than me.
Terese: What is your most embarrassing moment?
Drew: I'll never tell...just kidding.*Long period of silence* I have a lot; I just can't think of one. It would probably be when two 11-year-old girls pulled me off stage. I went over to shake their hands and they grabbed me and pulled me down. They had man arms!
Terese: What has been your favorite acting experience so far?
Drew: Definitely Another Cinderella Story, but also Campus Confidential. It was really cool because we were there about a month before hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans; and we went to jazz concerts.
